Punjab : Kejriwal Promises Free Medical Treatment If AAP Comes In Power

Ludhiana : Along with free electricity Aam Aadmi Party will provide free health care. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal share his mega plan of revamping the health infrastructure in a press conference on Thursday.

Arvind Kejriwal stresses on upgrade of health care. If AAP comes in power after the next assembly elections he will provide free health benefits at public hospitals. He also said that similar to Delhi, all medicines, tests, treatments, and operations would be free of cost. But, Kejriwal did not name a chief ministerial candidate for Punjab but promised that an announcement will be made in this regard in due time.

The six health care promises made by AAP are :-

  1. Free healthcare facilities for all citizens of Punjab.
  2. Free treatment, medicines, operations for everyone. The AAP government will ensure medicines are always available.
  3. Health Card for all citizens, which will have all the historical data of the patient.
  4. Pind Clinic and ward clinic in 16,000 places across the state, replicating the Mohalla Clinic model of Delhi.
  5. Complete revamp of all government hospitals in Punjab, with assurances of new ones.
  6. All road accident victims to get free treatment across Punjab.

Kejriwal said that only Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) in Chandigarh, is in a good state. All other government-run health centers and institutions in the state are in a scabby condition. Such conditions of Government hospitals is forcing the common people to look for options at private hospitals.

Arvind says that private hospitals loot people and government ones are facing staff shortage. He said, “These private hospitals, in turn, loot the public; meanwhile the government has a serious shortage of staff and infrastructure in its healthcare facilities,” he said.

Addressing a press conference in the poll-bound state, the AAP supremo informed that if his party can deliver the promises made to Delhi, it can do the same for the people of Punjab who have become collateral damage to the political rivalries within the state.

“I have said again and again that when the time comes we will give you a good CM face, it could be anyone. We are not thinking about it right now,” Kejriwal said in Ludhiana.

Further he also promised to open up more Press Clubs in the state if he comes to power.

The AAP supremo informed that if his party can deliver the promises made to Delhi, it can do the same for the people of Punjab.
