Lalu Prasad advises Sonia Gandhi to hold a meeting

Patna: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) national president Lalu Prasad Yadav addressed a rally in which he said he had a telephonic conversation with the Congress President Sonia Gandhi where asked him about his health. he further said that he advised Sonia to hold a meeting.

“Your party is a pan-India party, so a meeting of all the like-minded people and parties should be called to make a strong alternative (against the ruling party),” he said during the rally. Both the RJD and the Congress are contesting the assembly by-elections to two seats — Tarapur and Kusheshwar Asthan – on Saturday. This has deepened the rift between the allies.Lalu Yadav was asked whether the RJD’s alliance with the Congress was over. “Kya hota hai Congress ka gathbandhan (of what use is an alliance with the Congress),” snapped the former Bihar Chief Minister.

Asked to comment on Congress leader Bhakt Charan Das saying the RJD was helping the BJP by turning its back on the Congress, Lalu Yadav retorted: “Should we have parted with a seat so that the Congress lost it and forfeited its deposit? Bhakt Charan is a bhakchonhar (stupid person).”

Though state Congress leaders are furious with the RJD leader, Sonia Gandhi wants to smooth things over with one of the party’s oldest allies, say sources.

A rally was held in Tarapur. It is believed that Lalu’s entry can change the electoral equation. On the other hand, there is huge enthusiasm among RJD supporters. They are eagerly waiting for their leader to arrive at the Idgah ground in Tarapur. Elections will be held on October 30. The results will be declared on November 2.

Lalu Prasad’s statement during rally

1.Lalu took a jibe at the prohibition of liquor and said that in Bihar the rat consumes alcohol. Nitish did nothing. Nitish had said that he will support those who get special status. Bihar has not got special status till now. Nitish used to say that I will get mixed in the soil but will not go with BJP.

2. We have made Tarapur a sub-division. Tejashwi was made the Chief Minister by the people. They formed the government by cheating. People of Bihar are with RJD.

3. I have come to immerse Tejashwi has fired Kachumar. Vote unitedly. No development work has been done in Bihar. There is unemployment here. Nitish Kumar is scared.

4. While addressing the public, Lalu said that I have come to salute the people. No one stands in front of democracy. This fight is between the government and the people.
