Kolkata : Ex-Goa Chief Minister and Senior Party Leader Luizinho Faleiro has joined Trinmool Congress on Wednesday. Along with him several other party leaders who are close to him too have joined TMC. The joining ceremony took place in the presence of Trinmool Congress MP Abhishek Banerjee.
The ex-Chief Minister of Goa, Luizinho Faleiro, had landed at Kolkata on Tuesday.
Earlier, in a press conference, he lauded Mamata Banerjee’s ‘streetfighter’ spirit and said: “Mamata Banerjee has fought and succeeded in stopping BJP from entering Bengal. She symbolizes woman empowerment and can bring the country back on track of development and progress.”
Mamata Banerjee took twitter and said it’s a matter of pride for her to welcome Faleiro on board. She tweeted, “

Faleiro, has previously served two terms as the Chief Minister of Goa. He submitted his resignation on Monday as an MLA to the Speaker of the Goa Assembly ahead of state assembly elections next year.
The All India Congress Committee (AICC) in charge of Goa, Dinesh Gundu Rao, confirmed to ANI that Faleiro has given his resignation from the primary membership of the party as well.
