Madhya Pradesh Bypolls: Congress leading on both the seats

After round 2 of counting, Congress was leading in Kolaras by 1,256 votes while in Mungaoli BJP leading by 305 votes

The Madhya Preadesh bypoll results are due today. The two assembly constituencies of Congress Mungaoli and Kolaras where bypolls were conducted fall under the loksabha constituency of Congress MP Jyotiraditya Scindia, Guna.

In both of the constituencies, there is a direct tussel between Congress and BJP. While Congress, in line with Rajasthan Bypoll victory has to maintain the winning streak to motivate its workers, BJP on the other hand is trying to create a dent in the bastion of Scindia.

According to the latest updates, the counting of vote began at around 8 AM. The counting will be done in 23 rounds in Kolaras and 19 rounds in Mungaoli. In the bypolls held on February 24, total 22 candidates are trying their luck at Kolaras while 13 are in the race for Mungaoli assembly seat.

The total voter turnout recorded in Kolaras and Mungaoli was 77.05 and 70.4 per cent respectively.

After round 2 of counting, Congress was leading in Kolaras by 1,256 votes while in Mungaoli BJP leading by 305 votes. However, after initial setback Congress recovered and is now leading on both the Madhya Pradesh seats.
