Maha IPS Reshuffle: Amitabh Gupta Becomes New Pune Commisioner, Had Faced Flak For Issuing Special Pass To Wadhwan Brothers

Dr K Venkatesham, the present commisioner of Pune, has now been made the new additional DG of special operations.

Amitabh Gupta, the IPS officer who issued a special pass for Wadhwan brothers to travel from Lonavala to Mahabaleshwar, has now been appointed as the new commisioner of Pune. The plum posting comes at a time when he’s working as a Principal Secretary (Law & Order) in Maharashtra’s Home Ministry, the Mumbai Mirror reported.

Dr K Venkatesham, the present commisioner of Pune, has now been made the new additional DG of special operations. Gupta is replaced by Vineet Agarwal who was repatriated from ED.

Gupta must be censured, the enquiry committee against him had suggested.

Additional Commisioner Manoj Sharma, who was in charge of Mumbai west region, has now been made Additional Commisioner in state security corporation.

Shivdeep Lande, one of the high profile IPS officers, who was earlier promoted as DIG is now posted in ATS.

Mumbai South’s Former Additional Commisioner, Nishit Mishra, is now in charge of protection branch.

Mumbai Traffic DCP, Ranjan Sharma, has now been promoted to state CID.

Deputy Commissioner of Mumbai Zone 10, Ankit Goyal, has now been transferred as superintendent of Gadchiroli.

According to the report by Mumbai Mirror, the state government has transferred total 22 deputy commissioners and superintendents of police. Another list will be released soon.
