Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh has raised serious questions on Union Home Ministry and National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval over the handling of the Markaz Nizamuddin event.

Mumbai| Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh has raised serious questions on Union Home Ministry and National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval over the handling of Markaz Nizamuddin event held in March in the national capital which resulted into a steep spike in coronavirus cases in India.

Anil Deshmukh has jolted down a few questions for union home ministry and Ajit Doval on his official letter pad.

He said, “In the suburban area of Mumbai, around 50,000 Tablighi Jammat followers were supposed to gather on 15th & 16th March, but Maharashtra government denied the permission for the event.”

“Why did union home ministry allow the Tablighi event to take place in Markaz Nizamuddin?”

He also raised the question over the presence of a police station next to the Nizamuddin Markaz. He said, “Why did the police did not stop the event? Isn’t the home ministry responsible for that?”

He also said that over a thousand people gathered at Markaz and that’s how the coronavirus spread in many other states. “Why should the union home ministry not be held responsible for this?”

He also raised a question about who sent NSA Ajit Doval to Markaz at 2 AM. “Who’s supposed to do this kind of work? NSA or Delhi Police Commissioner?”

He also raised serious questions on what secret Ajit Doval was discussing with the Maulana of Markaz at 2 AM. “After meeting the NSA, where did the maulana flee the very next day? Where is he now?”

He also asked why NSA and Delhi police commissioner have given no statement on the incident till now.

He concluded his letter with some fiery questions stating, “Who has connections with the Tablighi Jammat and what type of connections do they have?

  1. You gave permission for the event in Markaz.
  2. You didn’t stop the event when you could’ve.
  3. You have connections with Tablighi Jamaat.

Who’ll provide answers on all these questions?” Anil Deshmukh Asked.
