Kolkata| Mamta Banerjee took oath as the Chief Minister of Bengal for the third time on Wednesday. While the swearing-in ceremony was definitely Mamata Banerjee’s moment, what caught everyone’s attention was the conversation between her and Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar. After Mamata Banerjee’s oath, Dhankhar explained to Mamata that the violence in the state should stop immediately. After this, Mamta Banerjee said that the state’s system was with the Election Commission so far, now she will start a new system.
After thanking everyone, Mamta Banerjee said, “Our priority is to fight the war against Covid. The first meeting is about the Covid situation only. Today, we will tell you what steps the state will take regarding the Covid situation by holding a press conference. I appeal to all political parties to maintain peace. We will not indulge in violence, no worker of our party will do it. There should not be any violent incident in Bengal. If there is any violent incident, then we will also take strong action. No person will be forgiven. I am in favour of peace. There was, and will be peace in Bengal.”
