Massive fire at Aarey Forest; activists suspect sabotage

Mumbai| A massive fire broke out at Mumbai’s dense Aarey Forest sprawling over city’s suburban area. Reportedly the fire started spreading at around 7 PM on Monday.

Fire tenders have been rushed at the spot and 100 firefighters are currently present at the spot. The fire has erupted near the famous Film City area and is reportedly spread towards Nagari Niwara and Dindoshi area in Goregaon.

The firefighting efforts are underway, however, the dense forest has made it difficult for the vehicles to access the site of fire. According to the latest updates, the firefighters have rushed towards Dindoshi which is a residential area.

Aarey is Mumbai’s biggest green cover and movement to save it from being cut down due to Metro car shed was going on. Though, the cause of fire has not yet been confirmed activists suspect it can be a sabotage or planned conspiracy.
