When asked about the matter, the Chief Minister said today: “If the message comes by evening, I will let you know immediately.”
Amid speculations about his replacement, Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa said he expects to receive a message from the BJP high command about his political future today, NDTV reported. When asked about the matter, the Chief Minister said today: “If the message comes by evening, I will let you know immediately.”
Earlier this month, the 78-year-old BJP leader made a sudden visit to Delhi where he met the prime minister and other senior leaders. His visit sparked speculations about BJP senior leadership allegedly asking him to step down as Chief Minister.
Mr Yediyurappa, however, had maintained throughout that he has not been asked to resign. On Thursday, he told reporters, “There is an event on July 26 on completion of two years of our government here. After this, I will follow whatever (BJP president) JP Nadda will decide”.
However, there are questions whether Mr Yediyurappa will be asked to step down while the state battles floods.
