A massive move of Mumbai Police Commissioner advising personnel above 55-year-old to be at home, after losing three lives due to Coronavirus

 

MUMBAI| On Tuesday, following the deaths of Mumbai Police Personnel due to Coronavirus virus Mumbai Police Commissioner, instructs personnel above 55-year-old should not be working. A massive move from the Mumbai Police Commissioner as Mumbai Police lost its third personnel due to Coronavirus on Monday.

Being concern of the health issues and the effects of the virus the Police Commissioner took the big step to guard personnel’s lives. And also advise them to be at home to curb the spread of the virus.

On Monday, a 56-year-old head constable with Mumbai Police died due to COVID-19. Police constable name Shivaji Sonawane while undergoing treatment for the novel coronavirus took his last breath.

Shivaji Sonawane, the deceased was attached to the Kurla traffic division of the Mumbai Police. Sonawane was deployed in the L-ward in Kurla. The L-ward is one of Mumbai’s city major COVID-19 hotspot. The demise of Sonawane was informed through the twitter handle of Mumbai Police.

The tweet read as, “Mumbai Police regrets to inform about the unfortunate demise of HC Shivaji Narayan Sonawane (56) from Kurla Traffic Division. HC Sonawane had been battling Coronavirus”.

“We pray for his soul to rest in peace. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Sonawane family,” Mumbai Police.

Head Police Constable Shiaji Sonawane is the third Mumbai Police personnel to have succumbed to COVID-19 after testing positive of the virus. Before of Sonawane, Constable Chandrakant Pendurkar attached to the Vakola police station was the first Mumbai Police personnel to die of Covid-19. Following his demise on Saturday, 52-year-old head constable Sandip Surve succumbed to the infection on Sunday.
