“National Media, Don’t Divert The Issue”: Diljit Dosanjh Visits Farmers’ Protest At Singhu Border

Referring to national media, Dosanjh said: “If you are listening to us, there’s nothing else being spoken about except farmers. Do not divert the issues.”

Punjabi and Hindi cinema actor and singer, DIljit Dosanjh, today reached Singhu Border near Delhi to visit the ongoing farmers’ protest. The actor, since the protests began, has supported farmers’ agitation against the new agriculture reforms brought in by the central government.

Diljit, who was trending on Twitter on Friday after he took on Kangana Ranaut for posting a misleading tweet about a protesting woman, didn’t hide his disappointment with national media.

Switching from Punjabi to Hindi, referring national media, Dosanjh said: “I will also speak in Hindi, sir. So that you won’t have to google it after this. If you are listening to us, there’s nothing else being spoken about except farmers. Do not divert the issues.”

“Whatever the farmers’ demands are, the government should fulfil them. Everyone is sitting here peacefully. No one is talking about any bloodshed here. These things keep happening on Twitter, people try to divert the issues,” the actor said, taking a potshot at Kangana Ranaut, with who he had a spat on Twitter.

“But we request national media with folded hands that please show we are sitting peacefully here. The entire country is with the farmers. We request everyone to support us and urge the government to help the farmers,” Dosanjh further added.
