Mumbai: Maharashtra minister Nawab Malik on Thursday said that Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) zonal chief Sameer Wankhede was in Maldives and Dubia when most of the bollywood star went last year. He alleged him of ‘ugahi’ (extortion) of money.
“During Covid, the entire (film) industry was in Maldives… Officer and his family were also there. Sameer Wankhede has to explain about his visit to Dubai & Maldives. We are sure that this ‘ugahi’ happened in Maldives, Dubai; will give you photos soon,” Nawab Malik told ANI
He further said that actress Rhea Chakraborty was falsely accused in Actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, “After Sushant Singh Rajput suicide case, NCB deputed a special officer. CBI was probing the case.Death mystery remained unsolved but NCB’s interference began in film industry. Rhea Chakraborty was framed falsely, attempts were made to frame others too.”
He has also called NCB director as puppet of Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP), “They (BJP) have a puppet – Wankhede. He raises bogus cases against people. I challenge that Wankhede that he’ll lose his job within a year. You came to jail us, people of this nation won’t be silent without seeing you behind bars. We have evidence of bogus cases,” news agency ANI quoted Nawab Malik as saying
NCB zonal director Sameer Wankhede has denied all these allegations and has said that he condemns these allegations, “I condemn this. This is false information. In December I was in Mumbai, the time when he said I was in Dubai. This can be investigated. I condemn this. This is a false allegation.
Malik’s son-in-law Sameer Khan was also arrested by the agency in a drugs case but was granted bail by Special NDPS court last week.“Tell us who your father is, the one who is putting pressure? Nawab Malik isn’t going to be scared of anyone’s father whatever pressure you may try to put on me. I won’t stop until I put you in jail, I’d like to make this clear today,” the NCP leader said.
