In A New Twist, BJP To Move No-Confidence Motion Against Ashok Gehlot Government Tomorrow

“We are bringing a no-confidence motion tomorrow in the Assembly along with our allies,” Gulab Chand Kataria, Leader of Opposition in the Rajasthan Assembly said.

Jaipur| In a new twist to the Rajasthan political crisis, the BJP has now announced that it will move a no-confidence motion against the Ashok Gehlot government in the special assembly session starting tomorrow.

Former CM Vasundhara Raje and other leaders of Rajasthan BJP met earlier today to plan for the session. It was the first meeting of BJP MLAs since the rebellion of Sachin Pilot which pushed the Gehlot government on the brink of collapse.

After a patch up with Congress leadership, Pilot ended his rebellion on Monday.

“We are bringing a no-confidence motion tomorrow in the Assembly along with our allies,” Gulab Chand Kataria, Leader of Opposition in the Rajasthan Assembly said.

The BJP, throughout the crisis in Rajasthan Congress, denied any attempt to seize power by drawing away MLAs. BJP had also said that it would not call for a no-confidence motion and that it was up to the Congress to call a trust vote to prove its majority.

After the Congress patch-up, BJP canceled its previous MLAs’ meet scheduled on Tuesday.

“We are reworking our strategy,” Gulab Chand Kataria told NDTV on Tuesday.

Ashok Gehlot, who has been vocal about the BJP’s conspiracy to overthrow his government with the help of rebel Pilot and other MLAs, said: “The BJP doesn’t know what hit them! They suddenly canceled their meeting. They realized that their conspiracy didn’t work.”
