No bail to Aryan Khan will stay in jail for few more days

Mumbai : Aryan Khan will have to stay in Arthur Road jail for few more days. The special court under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act in Mumbai said his bail plea will be heard on Wednesday.

Aryan Khan’s bail was denied by the Killa Court on Friday which cited that his plea was ‘not maintainable’. He is currently serving his 14-day judicial custody. The special court said that the bail plea of Aryan Khan will be heard on Wednesday after the lawyer for the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) sought seven days to file a reply in connection with the cruise ship drugs party bust. However, special judge VV Patil adjourned the matter to Wednesday.

Aryan Khan, wasn’t given bail after he was arrested in connection with the drugs-on-cruise case, a Mumbai Magistrates court announced Friday evening, indicating that his bail application was “not maintainable”.

The court also rejected bail applications from two other accused – Arbaaz Merchant and Munmun Dhamecha – and said all three would have to approach the Sessions Court for bail.

The young celebrity, from whom the NCB has admitted that no drugs were recovered, and other accused are currently housed in (and will be returned to) Mumbai’s Arthur Road jail.

According to reports, actor Shah Rukh Khan’s son was questioned about drugs by the Narcotics Control Bureau. 23-year-old Aryan Khan was one among the eight who are being questioned about drugs caught by NCB raid at a party on a cruise ship off the coast of Mumbai last night.

According to reports, there are two women among the eight being questioned. The eight people are: Munmun Dhamecha, Nupur Sarika, Ismeet Singh, Mohak Jaswal, Vikrant Chhoker, Gomit Chopra, Aryan Khan, Arbaaz Merchant.

“All eight, including Aryan Khan, are being questioned. Based on their statements further action will be taken,” said the anti-drugs agency. The NCB team boarded the ship disguised as passengers, sources said.

Drugs like Ecstasy, Cocaine, MD (Mephedrone) and Charas were recovered from the party on board the ship, the agency said. An officer said the statements of those detained are being recorded under section 67 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, following which the future course of action will be decided. An NCB official confirmed that Aryan Khan is being questioned, but he has not been charged.

The NCB officials claimed that a few days ago they had received information about the rave party being organised in the passenger cruise ship which was to leave for Goa on Saturday evening. The officials accordingly booked tickets and boarded the cruise ship disguised as passengers.

An official said that as soon as the cruise left Mumbai those onboard allegedly started consuming drugs, following which NCB officials caught them red-handed.

The ship’s captain was then asked to take the cruise to the international cruise terminal at Ballard Pier in south Mumbai. The luggage of those detained was also taken to the NCB office for checking.
