“Not So Sasti Anymore”: Taapsee Pannu Explains What Caused 3 Days Of “Intense” Search By IT Dept

She said that three days of intense search was primarily for three things: keys to an alleged Paris bungalow, a receipt for ₹ 5 crore, and “memory of 2013 raid”.

Actor Taapsee Pannu, whose properties were searched by the Income Tax department for three days, today said that three days of intense search was primarily for three things: keys to an alleged Paris bungalow, a receipt for ₹ 5 crore, and “memory of 2013 raid”.

The actor’s response came three days after Wednesday’s raids over alleged tax evasion. Along with Taapsee, Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, too, was raided by the I-T department. Both artists were reportedly questioned in Pune by the officials. Searches took place at 30 locations in Mumbai and Pune.

Taapsee Pannu, in her first tweet, said: “Three days of intense search. Of three things primarily: 1. The keys of the ‘alleged’ bungalow that I apparently own in Paris. Because summer holidays are around the corner.”

In a follow-up tweet, she said: “2. The “alleged” receipt worth 5 crores to frame n keep for future pitching coz I’ve been refused that money before ????”

In her third tweet, she took a jibe at FM Nirmala Sitharaman and said: “3. My memory of 2013 raid that happened with me according to our honourable finance minister. P.S- “not so sasti” anymore”.

The “sasti” jibe was apprently targetted at actress Kangana Ranaut, who had called Taapsee a “sasti copy”.

Anurag Kashyap and Taapsee Pannu, on multiple occasions, have spoken out on various national issues. Ms Pannu had recently criticised the show of solidarity by the big stars towards the government in response to pop star Rihanna’s post drawing attention to the farmers’ agitation. Being a vocal supporter of farmers’ agitation, the actress had taken a jibe at the government’s campaign and said one should focus on strengthening the system.

“If one tweet rattles your unity, one joke rattles your faith or one show rattles your religious belief, then it’s you who has to work on strengthening your value system not become propaganda teachers for others,” Ms Pannu had said in her tweet after scores of celebrities tweeted in support of the government.
