Patiala House court adjourns hearing in Aircel-Maxis case till October 1

New Delhi | Delhi’s Patiala House Court on Tuesday adjourned the hearing of Aircel-Maxis case involving Karti Chidambaram until October 1.

The case involves finance minister P Chidambaram granting Foreign Investment Promotion Board ( FIPB) clearance to M/S Global Communication Holding Services Ltd for investment in Aircel. The Court will now hear look at the chargesheets filed by the Enforcement Directorate and the Central Bureau of Investigation on the same day.

Former Finance Minister P Chidambaram and his son Karti Chidambaram are under the scanner of CBI and ED, for granting FIPB clearance to M/S Global Communication Holding Services Ltd for investing in the telecom major Aircel.

The Supreme Court had earlier dismissed Karti Chidambaram’s plea against issuance of summons related to the case after CBI filed a fresh charge-sheet against the Congress leader and his son along with 16 other accused on July 19.
