J&K: The PDP-BJP alliance which is about to complete three years on March 11 this year is at a breakneck as the BJP-RSS in a high-end meeting have decided to meet Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti for fulfilling the Pro-Jammu issues which were campaigned by them during elections, failing to which they could come out of the Government.
Presently, the MLAs, MPS and other leaders of the JKBJP are facing high degree public rage due to their utter failure in fulfilling the promises made during the election campaign because of their dwarf stature in alliance with the PDP and are even sure that they will have to face dire consequences of the same in the next assembly as well as parliamentary elections.
All 11 BJP Ministers, eight Cabinet and three MoS, top RSS leadership including Romesh Puppa and two Members of Parliament (MPs), State president Sat Sharma and three general secretaries held a prolonged meeting at the residence of Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh on February 25, late evening.
Highly placed sources said that the emergency meeting was called after the regular ‘gherao’ of party ministers and MLAs at Sunderbani, Nowshera and Jammu on the several issue including Additional DC posts for Nowshera, Sunderbani and Kalakote, withdrawal of FIR’s against 2008 Shri Amarnath Ji land row agitation, Kathua Engineering College, discrimination in recruitment with Jammu by Public Services Commission (PSC) and Services Selection Board (SSB) and besides others.
Sources said that it was decided in the meeting that a group will meet Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to apprise her about the expectations of Jammu province people from BJP which had gone up after their alliance with the PDP and which they would like to settle as soon as possible.
If sources are to be believed the RSS has rebuked the JKBJP leaders that at any cost a message shouldn’t go to the people of Jammu region that the BJP wants to stick to power at the cost of Jammu’s interests and if the BJP despite being coalition partner in state government is helpless in meeting the aspirations and promises made with the people of Jammu, it shouldn’t hesitate from coming out of the power,” they said.
Pertinent to mention here that BJP is facing ‘all-round condemnations’ as it even failed to raised voice against the PDP against the agreed position when it increased its strength in the Cabinet to 12 in December last year as against the agreed position of 11, leaving BJP at only eight. PDP has also three additional vice chairpersons of various Corporations/Board.
Moreover, the PDP in Kashmir has withdrawn cases registered against several stone pelters in the shape of amnesty while the cases registered against the youths of Jammu during the 2008 Amarnath land row still stands there despite repeated promises made by the BJP time and again during the campaign which is a sheer injustice and discrimination with the Jammuities and an utter failure cum matter of shame for the BJP.
