PM Modi kickstarts election campaigning in poll-bound Tripura

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold rallies in Sonamura-a town in West Tripura and Kailashahar in North of the state.

 

The assembly polls in the North-Eastern Indian state of Tripura are due in next 10 days. Ahead of polling, the Bharatiya Janata Party is channeling all its might to lure the voters of the small state. From the saffron, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be at the helm of the election campaigning. Today, PM Modi will sound a bugle to being election rallies in Tripura.

According to party sources, PM Modi will conduct rallies in Sonamura-a town in West Tripura and Kailashahar in North of the state. Both the bordering towns are Muslim dominated areas.

The tight security has been deployed in the state considering several protocols and security concerns. Police forces have been warned to ensure a full Proof security. A team of SPG has already visited the proposed venues and conducted an audit.

The Prime Minister will hold a rally in BJP vice-president Subal Bhowmik’s constituency. Incidentally, the constituency is right next to Chief Minister Manik Sarkar’s constituency of Dhanpur in Sepahijala district. According to sources, around 1 Lakh people from across three districts Sepahijala, Gomati and South Tripura, are expected to attend the rally.

In the second phase of election campaigning, PM Modi will visit the state again on February 15 and hold a roadshow.

Tripura Election will be held in the state on February 18. There are 60 seats in the Assembly and counting of votes will be done on March 3.
