Policeman shot dead by terrorist in Kashmir’s Kulgam

Srinagar | A policeman in Kulgam district of Kashmir valley was shot dead by terrorists on Wednesday after he was returning from Namaz on the occasion of Eid.

The deceased officer of the Jammu and Kashmir Police was returning home after paying Eid prayers in a mosque in the village of Apgam in Kulgam, when some suspected militants launched indiscriminate firing on him, after which he was seriously injured and later died. Identified as Faiz Ahmed Shah, the officer was resident of Zaziripora and was working as an SPO. Faiz was recently promoted to the post of constable.

According to reports, Faiz Ahmed Shah was training in Manigam and came home on holiday on the occasion of Eid. The Security forces have begun the search operation for the killers. Earlier on Wednesday morning clashes erupted between stone pelting youth and security forces in various part of Kashmir valley including Anantnag, Kupwara and Sopore.

During Ramzan, rifleman Aurangzeb was reportedly abducted by Lashkar-e-Taiba and Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists while on his way home for Eid.
