A convention of Goa Congress workers from Mormugao has also been organized at the Chicalim ground where the party is set to induct several prominent activists into its fold.

Panaji: Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi is at Goa, to launch her party’s poll campaign for the 2022 Goa Assembly elections today in the southern Indian state. In a viral video, Priyanka Gandhi can be seen dancing in the traditional style.

The state party unit is currently undergoing inner turmoil with prying eyes from the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Aam Aadmi Party.

Gandhi is set to address a public gathering and will also interact with select groups.

As per her itinerary, she will visit Assolna to lay a wreath at the Martyrs’ Memorial, followed by interaction and lunch with tribal women at Morpirla in Quepem taluka, and then with ‘Amchem Mollem’ student activists at MCC hall in Margao.

Gandhi will later address a women’s convention – ‘Priyadarshani’ – at the Costa ground in Aquem. She will also interact with state Mahila Congress office bearers and functionaries.

A convention of Goa Congress workers from Mormugao has also been organized at the Chicalim ground where the party is set to induct several prominent activists into its fold.

Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut had earlier this week held an hour-long meeting with Priyanka in New Delhi, and later hinted at a pre-poll alliance between the parties in Goa.

It is to be noted here that former Goa chief minister Luizinho Faleiro had quit the Congress in September to join Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress.

Dealing another blow to the ‘grand old party of Indian politics, party MLA and another former CM Ravi Naik resigned from the state Assembly earlier this week.

Rahul Gandhi had also visited Goa in October to campaign for next year’s polls.
