Priyanka slams Yogi government says “No one is safe in UP”

Uttar Pradesh: Congress General Secretary, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Monday said that no one is safe in UP. This statement comes hours after a lawyer was shot dead in a court premises in Shahjahanpur on Monday.

In a tweet, Priyanka Gandhi said, “The legal and judicial fraternity is an integral pillar of our democracy. The brutal murder of an advocate in broad daylight in court premises in Shahjahanpur is another chilling reminder that no one is safe in today’s UP – not women, not farmers and now not advocates.”

According to police, Bhupendra Singh (38) of Jalalabad tehsil was shot dead inside the court complex in Shahjahanpur on Monday. The forensic team has collected evidence from the incident spot. The post mortem report of the victim will be conducted by a panel of three doctors. Further investigation is underway.

Congress General Secretary , Priyanka Gandhi Vadra while addressing the Kisan Nyay rally had attacked the government and said that there are only two types of people are safe in this country today — BJP leaders who are in power and their billionaire friends.

She also further said that 600 farmers have died during the protests, “Farmers have been protesting for over 300 days, during which more than 600 farmers have died. They’re protesting because they know that their income, land and crops will go to billionaire friends of this government.”

She added, “PM Modi called the protesting farmers ‘Andolanjivi’ and terrorists. Yogi ji called them hooligans and tried to threaten them. The same minister [Ajay Misra] said that he would make the protesting farmers fall in line within two minutes.”

She said that the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister is defending the Union minister Ajay Mishra and Prime minister Narendra Modi didn’t visit the incident side. “
