Rafale fighter jets will be a boost for the Indian Air force: IAF Chief

New Delhi | Air Force Chief Marshal BS Dhanoa on Wednesday said that the inclusion of Rafale fighter jets and S-400 Air defence system will boost the power of the Indian Air Force.

Addressing a press conference in Delhi, the Indian Air Force chief said, “Rafale is a good aircraft, it will be a game-changer when it comes to the Indian Subcontinent.” Responding to the controversy related to the Info-France Rafale deal over the choice of the offset partners in the deal, Dhanoa said, “It was Dassault that was to select an offset partner. The government and the IAF had no role to play.” He also claimed, “We have got a good package, got a lot of advantages in the in the Rafale deal.”

Air Chief Marshal also added that the Rafale fighter jet from France and the S-400 missile defence system from Russia — will prove to be a booster dose from Russia — will prove to be a booster dose for the depleting arsenal of the Air Force. The agreement related to the contract of supply of five regiments of the S-400 defence system worth $ 5 billion will be signed during the visit of Russian president Vladimir Putin.
