PM Modi, President Kovind express condolence over Raigad Bus incident

New Delhi | Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with Congress president Rahul Gandhi expressed grief over the tragic bus accident in Maharashtra’s Raigad District.

At least 30 people are dead after a bus fell into a 500 feet deep valley near Ambenali Ghat in Mahabaleshwar, Maharashtra on Saturday. All passengers on-board were students and staff of then Dapoli agriculture University and were heading towards Mahabaleshwar on a weekend trip.

“Pained by the loss of lives due to a bus accident in Maharashtra’s Raigad district. My condolences to those who lost their loved ones,” the PM Modi tweeted.

Congress president Rahul Gandhi also took note of the incident and appealed to his party workers in the area to provide assistance to the injured and deceased’s families. “I’m sorry to hear about the terrible bus accident in Raigad, Maharashtra in which a large number of people have been killed and many others injured. I appeal to Congress party workers in the area to provide all possible assistance to the injured & families of those who have died,” Rahul tweeted.

President Kovind also expressed his grief over the incident which took place at the boundary of Raigad-Satara district. He tweeted, “Extremely saddened to learn about the tragic bus accident in Raigad, Maharashtra. Rescue efforts are on to help affected people. Thoughts and prayers with the bereaved families and with those injured.”
