Republic Day Parade: No Chief Guest, Contingent From Bangladesh, Rafel Tableau- Here’s All That’s Different This Time

This time a Bangladesh contingent is also taking part in the Republic Day celebrations for the first time to commemorate 50th anniversary of Bangladesh Liberation.

 

New Delhi| The country is celebrating the 72nd Republic Day. The Republic Day Parade has also started on Rajpath. President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi are present on the Rajpath. This time the Bangladesh contingent is also taking part in the celebrations for the first time. This is the first time in 55 years that no Chief Guest is involved in the Republic Day Parade. Earlier in India, even in 1952, 1953 and 1966, no Chief Guest attended the Republic Day Parade.

What changes will be seen on Rajpath today?

– The number of tableaux participating in the parade has been reduced from 70 to 32. Of these, 17 tableaux will be from the state and union territories. 9 tableaux will be from different ministries. 6 tableaux will be of security forces.

– Everyone involved in the parade will be wearing face masks. There will be thermal screening of everyone at the entry gate and hand sanitization of all will be done.

– The military contingent marching in the parade will have 96 people instead of 144.

– This time only 25 thousand people will see the parade on Rajpath instead of 1.25 lakh people.

– Children younger than 15 years and elders will not be allowed to visit Rajpath.

– Earlier the parade used to be 8.2 km long. It used to stretch from Vijay Chowk to Lal Quila. This time will be 3.3 km long. It will start from Vijay Chowk and conclude at National Stadium.

– Bhavana Kant, a resident of Darbhanga district in Bihar, will be the first female firefighter pilot to participate in the Republic Day parade.

– For the first time Rafale will be seen, it will fly in the Vertical Charlie Formation.

– This time around, children who won gallantry awards will also not be attending the 72nd Republic Day celebrations.

– 100 meritorious students from school and college will get a chance to watch the Republic Day parade from the Prime Minister’s box.

For the first time, a tableau of vaccine will also be included

The Central Biotechnology Department (DBT) tableau is being included in the Republic Day parade for the first time. It will display Coronavirus vaccine and its importance.
