Republic TV’s Arnab Goswami Claims He Was Attacked By Congressmen

The Republic TV chief Arnab Goswami has filed a police complaint in which he said that the attack took place around 12:15 am.

Mumbai| Republic TV chief Arnab Goswami claimed that he was attacked on his way back from his studio in Mumbai by Youth Congress workers.

Republic World stated that the attack took place barely 500 metres away from Arnab’s house as he was driving back after his show, with his wife and Republic TV Editor Samyabrata Ray Goswami in their Toyota Corolla

TV anchor Arnab and his wife escaped uninjured in the assault.

The Republic TV chief has registered a police complaint at NM Joshi Marg Police station.

FIR is under section 341 (Punishment for wrongful restraint) and 504 (Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) of IPC and two people were arrested, reported ANI.

Arnab Goswami on his show said, “I would like to ask the country, would the country had remained silent if Maulvis or Christian Padres would have been targeted the way Hindu saints were? Would Italy’s Antonia Maino (Sonia Gandhi) have remained silent then? I would like to tell you if the victims had been Christian padres, Sonia Gandhi, who had come from Rome, would not have remained silent on the issue.”

On Wednesday, several complaints were registered against popular TV Anchor at different places.

Congress leaders had filed a complaint against Arnab accusing him of attempting to communalise the death of three persons in Maharashtra’s Palghar. A complaint was lodged against Arnab in Nagpur on Wednesday by Congress leader Nitin Raut. “It is an attempt to give religious colour to the incident by the media. Goswami is one of them. We have decided to request the CM to take action against him,” he said.

An FIR was filed against him in Chhattisgarh’s Raipur after several complaints by Congress workers.
