Kolkata– The Central Bureau of Investigation has formed a new team to locate former Kolkata Police Commissioner Rajeev Kumar. the special team of CBI officials landed in Kolkata on Wednesday. According to sources, at least 10 S rank officers were brought to Kolkata from the CBI headquarters in Delhi on Wednesday.
The officers reached the CBI office at the CGO complex in Kolkata and reported to joint Director Pankaj Srivastava.
Rajeev Kumar who heads West Bengal premier investigation agency crime Investigation Department (CID), was summoned by the CBI to appear for questioning last Saturday.

However, Rajeev Kumar had failed to turn up before the Investigating agency. Instead, he sent an email to the CBI, seeking more time to appear before the agency stating that he is currently on leave.
The summon was issued following Calcutta High Court’s order which withdrew Rajeev Kumar’s anticipatory plea citing lack of jurisdiction.
DGP Virendra, in his reply, Stated that Rajeev Kumar had mentioned his official residence at 34, Park Street in Kolkatta as his location in the leave application, sources claimed.
However, Rajeev Kumar was not present at the residence last Friday when the CBI visited the location to serve him the summon.
