Section 144 imposed in Ayodhya ahead of Supreme Court hearing

Section 144 will remian in force in Ayodhya till December 10. The hearing in the Ayodhya case is to be completed by October 17.

 

New Delhi| The Babri Masjid-Ram Janmabhoomi dispute has reached a crucial stage. Today, the Muslim petitioners will conclude their arguements about the disputed site. Ahead of the court proceedings, UP administration has imposed Section 144 in Ayodhya.

Ayodhya DM informing about the decision said that the move has been taken in view of anticipation of the verdict. Section 144 will remian in force in Ayodhya till December 10. The hearing in the Ayodhya case is to be completed by October 17. After that the constitution bench of five judges headed by CJI Ranjan Gogoi will pronounce verdict.

On August 6, the Supreme Court began daily hearing in the case after all the efforts of mediations in the case failed.

QMuslim intellectuals call for gifting the site to Hindus:

Meanwhile, several Muslim intellectuals have urged the Muslim side to gift the land to Hindus. They urged that even if Muslim side wins rhe claim, they should give gift the land to Hindu side for the construction of Ram Temple.
