This morning, the recovery rate stood at 21.09% as compared to 14.19% last week while 741 patients recovered in the last 24 hours.
New Delhi| On Friday, Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan lauded the performances of states in managing the situation well while announcing the novel coronavirus mortality rate in the nation at 3% and the recovery rate from it over 20%.
Vardhan conducted a video conference with health ministers of states and Union territories to review the anti-COVID-19 preparation and public health actions taken in the nation.
When asked about rapid antibody tests, Health Minister said the results of the test differ from place to place and “it can’t be relied upon”.
“Moreover, the WHO has also not commented on its efficiency. The ICMR is evaluating the effectiveness of the test and the kits in its own labs and shall come out with fresh guidelines soon,” he said in a statement.
Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan said,: “The mortality rate in the country is 3% and recovery rate is more than 20 per cent.”

PPEs and N95 masks used to be shipped in the country but now we have around 100 production units which are competent in making them in India itself, the health minister said.
While praising the states’ efforts, Vardhan said they may also follow the best practices of each other.
Harsh Vardhan also cautioned all ministers to ensure that non-COVID patients are not ignored.
The country has recorded a huge jump in COVID-19 cases in a week’s time. From nearly 16,000 cases reported last Sunday, the COVID-19 count has crossed the 26,000-mark today.
