Sonia Gandhi To Not Celebrate Her Birthday This Year In View Of Farmers’ Protest

Congress Interim President Sonia Gandhi will not celebrate her birthday this year. She has taken this decision in view of the farmers’ agitation

 

New Delhi|Farmers protesting against agricultural laws have intensified their agitation. Today, ‘Bharat Bandh’ has been called by farmers. This bandh will start from 11 am and go on till 3 pm. The Bharat Bandh decision has been supported by many other parties, including the Congress.

Meanwhile, Congress Interim President Sonia Gandhi will not celebrate her birthday this year. Sonia Gandhi celebrates her birthday every year on 9 December. She has taken this decision in view of the farmers’ agitation and Corona virus situation across the country.

More than 18 opposition parties, including Congress, NCP, Left parties, Shiv Sena, SP, Akali Dal, RJD have supported the Bharat Bandh. Apart from them, 10 Central Trade Unions have given moral support. In addition, railway unions, bank unions, several traders’ associations, mandi committees in Delhi-NCR, some organizations of lawyers, Khap panchayats have extended their support.

Farmers protesting the laws are camped at many borders including Singhu border, Tikri border. Ghazipur border is closed for the last few days. Now the impact of this movement is not only on the passengers, but the prices of fruits and vegetables are also increasing.
