Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Chief Sourav Ganguly met West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar on Sunday evening. The meeting lasted for an hour between the two. After this meeting, the speculation of Ganguly joining BJP has intensified. However, sources associated with the Raj Bhavan called it a courtesy meeting. The governor said many issues were discussed with Ganguly. Ganguly was invited to visit the Eden Gardens ground, which was accepted.
Political uproar before elections in Bengal
Assembly elections will be held in West Bengal in April-May next year. Earlier, political turmoil has intensified. Recently, 10 MLAs joined the BJP along with rebel Shubhendu Adhikari of Trinamool in the presence of Home Minister Amit Shah. Meanwhile, BJP MP Soumitra Khan’s wife Sujata Mondal joined Trinamool.

BJP appointed observer in Bengal
For Kolkata Zone, the party has appointed Sowan Chatterjee as Observer and Debjit Sarkar as the Convenor. Baisakhi Banerjee and Sankhudeb Panda have been made co-conveyors. In Bengal, BJP President Dilip Ghosh has appointed Observers and Convincers in other districts as well.
