Uttar Pradesh : Specialist doctors team to be sent to Firozabad, Agra and Mathura after increase in Dengue Cases

Lucknow: As the cases of dengue and malaria are on the rise in the districts of Uttar Pradesh like Agra, Mathura and Firozabad, UP government has ordered three team of three specialists doctors to be appointed and sent to the city at the earliest.

The decision comes after the state sees a sharp rise in the cases. Especially Ghaziabad seems to be hit the most as the cases rise at an alarming rate in the city.

The district nodal officer, Senthil Pandian C, has directed the departments concerned to find out waterlogged areas and take special surveillance in areas where such cases have surfaced in the past three years.

“Apart from 23 dengue patients in Ghaziabad, we also have nine patients from outside districts. We are seeing such patients in private hospitals too” said Dr Rakesh Gupta, district surveillance officer

The number of people dying of dengue fever in Firozabad district rose to 67 as more people lost their lives in the viral fever outbreak.

A similar incident showed up when a mother of a 12-year son fell at doctor’s feet for her son to get admitted in the hospital.

Lok Bandhu hospital in Lucknow has set up 10 beds while Balrampur Hospital has prepared 20 beds in their respective dengue wards.

“Keeping dengue patients separate from other patients is necessary. Hence, we have arranged separate ward with mosquito net on each bed in the ward,” said Dr Ajay Shankar Tripathi, medical superintendent of Lok Bandhu Hospital.

Doctors warned against mosquito breeding and said stagnant water in and around houses should immediately be removed.

Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath, who visited the district on Monday, has instructed urban and rural bodies to maintain cleanliness in their respective areas.
