SUV With Explosives Found Parked Outside Mukesh Ambani’s Mumbai Residence Antilia, Security Beefed Up

Commandos have been deployed outside Mukesh Ambani’s residence Antilia. The entire area has now been converted into a camp.

 

Mumbai| In a shocking development on Thursday, a suspicious Scorpio was found outside the residence of industrialist and Reliance Industries Limited chairman Mukesh Ambani in Mumbai. An FIR has been registered in the case after a vehicle full of explosives was found outside Mukesh Ambani’s house Antilia. One of the security detail spotted the SUV parked few metres away from Antilia and alerted the police. As soon as the police got information about this, teams of police and bomb disposal squad reached the spot. Police have recovered 20 sticks of gelatin. The ATS team was also involved in the investigation throughout the night.

A Mumbai Police spokesperson said that an FIR has been lodged against unknown people at Gamdevi Police Station. He said that the police have registered a case under various sections of the Indian Penal Code. Commandos were deployed outside Mukesh Ambani’s residence Antilia, the entire area has been converted into a camp. Recorded footage in CCTV cameras installed around is being investigated.

Police said that the registration number on the vehicle’s number plate is similar to that of an SUV fleet guarding Ambani. It said that a letter has also been found from inside the car. However, contents of the letter have not been made public yet. Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh tweeted, “20 sticks of gelatin have been found in a Scorpio van near the residence of industrialist Mukesh Ambani in Mumbai. The Crime Branch of Mumbai Police is investigating the case and the results of the investigation will be revealed soon.”
