Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin Meets Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi In Delhi

“We will keep working with the DMK to build a strong and prosperous state for the Tamil people,” Rahul Gandhi said.

MK Stalin, the Tamilnadu Chief Minister and DMK president, today met Congress chief Sonia Gandhi at her residence, where Rahul Gandhi was also present. In their alliance in Tamil Nadu, Congress is DMK’s junior partner.

Since the DMK-Congress alliance was elected to power in the recently-concluded assembly elections in Tamil Nadu, this is the first meeting between Mr Stalin and Sonia Gandhi.

It is learnt that the leaders discussed the new government’s schemes and policies in the state.

“Congress President Smt. Sonia Gandhi and I had the pleasure of meeting Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Shri M. K. Stalin and Smt. Durgavathy Stalin earlier today,” Rahul Gandhi said on Twitter.

“We will keep working with the DMK to build a strong and prosperous state for the Tamil people,” he further added.

Mr Stalin had met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday.
