Hotspots or red zones are districts or cities where more than 80 per cent of the country or state’s positive cases have been reported.
New Delhi| The central government has declared a total of 170 districts of the country affected by Coronavirus as hotspots. These districts have been marked under “Red” zones. These include six metro cities – Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata and Hyderabad. Tamil Nadu has the highest number of 22 districts in Red Zones. Followed by Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Andhra Pradesh with 11 districts each. All nine district hotspots in Delhi have been included in the cities. 5 districts of Madhya Pradesh and 5 from Gujarat are also in the category of hotspots. Meanwhile, 207 districts have been placed in non-hotspots (white zones) and 359 in green zones.

According to the Ministry of Health, hotspots or red zones are districts or cities where more than 80 per cent of the country or state’s positive cases have been reported. In addition, places where infection levels are high and cases are doubled in less than 4 days will also be considered as hotspots. At the same time, the green zones are the areas where no case of infection has been found for 28 days.
Throughout the Delhi Red Zone, contact tracing intensifies
South Delhi, Shahdara, South Eastern, West, North, Central, East and New Delhi are the red zones of Delhi. In the last 24 hours, there have been 17 new cases, bringing the number of infected persons to 1,577. So far 32 infected persons have died in Delhi. In this case, the government has intensified contact tracing. A pizza delivery boy tested positive in south Delhi. After this, it has been decided to quarantine 72 families who come into contact with it. 16 employees who worked with him have also been isolated.
