Threat To Anand Giri’s Life, Court Directed The Authorities To Provide Security

Prayagraj : The Chief Judicial Magistrate Harendra Nath asked superintendent of Naini Jail to provide security to Anand Giri as he has raised concern for life before court and said that there could be threat to his life.

As per the district government counsel (criminal), Gulab Chandra Agrahri, who represented the state during the court proceedings, the CJM examined the application of Anand Giri and while taking into consideration the sensitivity of the issue and passed the order to provide security in accordance with the jail manual.

Anand Giri is accused for the suicide of Akhil Bhartiya Akhara Parishad Chief Mahant Narendra Giri. His body was found hanging from ceiling of a room of Shri Baghambari Gaddi Matt on September 20. FIR has been filed against Anand Giri and two others under section 306 (abetment of suicide) of Indian Penal Code (IPC) at the Georgetown police station. In suicide note of Narendra Giri and two others for mental harassment.

Later, Anand Giri was arrested by police after police interrogation was done Anand Giri was presented before the court. He was remanded to judicial custody and sent to Naini central jail. The CJM Harendra Nath further directed that Anand Giri will henceforth be produced before the court through video-conferencing.

Sandeep Tiwari who is also accused for abetting the suicide of Narendra Giri, has been remanded for 14 day judicial custody by Chief Judicial Magistrate Court. He is son of another accused, Adya Prasad Tiwari, Preist of Bade Hanuman Temple was presented in court amid tight security. The Bail Application of Tiwari got rejected by Chief Judicial Magistrate Court and was sent to Naini Central Jail.

The case has now been taken over by the CBI for investigation.
