Two Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist involved in Pulwama attack killed in Army encounter: Sources

New Delhi | Two Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist including the mastermind Kamran behind the attack on the CRPF convoy in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama are reportedly been killed in an encounter with the security forces.

The terrorists were trapped in a house in Pinglena area of Pulwama district of South Kashmir last night after the security forces including the after the Rashtriya Rifles (RR), Special Operations Group (SOG) of the state police and the CRPF surrounded the village on a tip-off about suspected Jaish-e-Mohammed militants hiding in the area. Earlier today 1 civilian and 4 army personnel including a Major were killed during the encounter with these terrorists.

The killed terrorist are suspected to be involved in a terrorsit attack on the CRPF convoy on February 14. 40 CRPF personnel were killed in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district when a Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist identified as Adil Ahmed rammed an explosives-laden vehicle into the bus they were travelling in. More than 2,500 Central Reserve Police Force personnel, many of them returning from leave to rejoin duty in the Valley, were travelling in the convoy of 78 vehicles when they were ambushed on the Srinagar-Jammu highway at Latoomode in Awantipora.

This was the first suicide car bomb strike in Kashmir since the 2001 attack on the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly that left 41 persons, including three suicide attackers, dead.
