Mystery Disease Spreads Scare In Andhra Pradesh, 290 People Affected

About 140 people were admitted to the hospital from Saturday night to Sunday morning in Andhra Pradesh. However, the cause of the disease is not known yet.

 

Vijaywada| The number of people exposed to the unknown disease spread to Eluru in West Godavari district in Andhra Pradesh has reached 290. One person has also died. The patients of this disease started appearing in different areas of the district on Saturday night. By Sunday morning, their number increased to 170 and by the evening, it rose to more than 290. However, 140 of these people have been discharged.

Superintendent of Government Hospital, Eluru, Dr. Mohan said that the number of people falling ill is increasing. About 140 people were admitted to the hospital from Saturday night to Sunday morning. Patients are showing symptoms like dizziness, headache and epilepsy.The reason for this is not yet known.

Special teams of doctors arrived

Meanwhile, a 45-year-old man admitted to a government hospital in Vijayawada succumbed to the unknown disease. He was admitted after having seen morning vomiting and epileptic symptoms. Special teams of doctors have been sent to Eluru. It is going door-to-door to identify patients.

Forensic examination to determine the disease

Doctors said that blood, food and water samples of all patients have been sent for forensic examination. The report is awaited. CT scans and X-ray reports of all patients are normal. Surprisingly, all the patients are from different areas. They have no contact among themselves and have not attended any function recently.

Despite this, everyone is showing similar symptoms. The remaining patients, including 76 women and 46 children, are undergoing treatment. A six-year-old girl has been referred to Vijayawada in serious condition. Emergency Medicare Center has been set up there. Most of the cases have come from Kobbari Thota, Kothapeta, Torpu Veedhi and Arundhati Peta.

Deputy CM says- No need to panic

State Deputy CM and Health Minister Ala Kali Krishna said that the situation is now under control. All types of medical facilities are being provided to the patients. Most patients recovered shortly. Some have been admitted to a government hospital for better treatment. Initially it seemed that this problem was caused by water. Upon investigation they found no connection in this regard.

After visiting the hospitals, he said that there is no need to panic. 50 bed reserves have been kept in Vijayawada government hospital for patients. The team of doctors is attending every patient. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy will also visit Eluru on Monday. Governor Vishwa Bhushan Harichandan asked the officials to provide better treatment to the affected people.

AIIMS team has also reached

BJP MP GVL Narasimha Rao spoke to the state’s Chief Secretary Neelam Sahni. A team of five doctors from Mangalagiri AIIMS had reached Eluru for treatment. Rao said that he has spoken to AIIMS Delhi director Randeep Guleria and other experts on this issue. At the same time, TDP general secretary Nara Lokesh accused the Reddy government of negligence.
