Uttar Pradesh Govt Orders Protesting Farmers To Vacate Ghazipur Border By Midnight

The farmers protesting against the centre’s new farm laws at Delhi-UP border have been asked by the Uttar Pradesh government to end their protest and vacate the roads. The Ghaziabad administration issued the order, highlighting its plan to clear the road by tonight, sources said.

District Magistrate Ajay Shankar Pandey, including senior administrative officers and senior police officers, have made complete preparations to vacate the dharna site. Till tonight the protest site should be vacated.

The Adityanath-led government has taken a hard stance on the ongoing protest in its jurisdiction, since the violence in parts of Delhi during the farmers’ tractor rally on Republic day.

Earlier on Wednesday, the protesting farmers at Ghazipur border stayed on high alert entire night, after Uttar Pradesh authorities allegedly switched off the street lights in the area.

Security has been beefed up at Singhu border too. The police have intensified crackdown and road blockade by farmers is likely to be removed.
