New Delhi | The Uttar Pradesh police on Thursday arrested the main accused in the 3rd December Bulandshahr violence.

Yogesh Raj, the arrested Bajarang Dal leader was absconding sicne December 3, the day violence broke out in Bulandshahr. Raj had earlier released a video claiming his innocence In a released video he said, “I have nothing to do with it. I have full faith in God. I will be cleared of all accusations,” adding that he was not present at the site of the incident when Kumar and Sumit received gunshot wounds.
On December 3, a mob of some 400 people rampaged through a village in Bulandshahr district apparently after cow carcasses were found in a jungle nearby. During the violence, Inspector Subodh Kumar Singh and a 20-year-old man died of gunshot wounds. Nine people have been arrested in connection with the violence.
