Vajpayee belonged to the nation: Vajpayee’s niece on Karuna Shukla’s remarks

New Delhi | Atal Bihari Vajpayee niece Kanti Mishra on Friday rejected Karuna Shukla’s statement criticising the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) for politicising Vajpayee’s death for electoral gain in 2019 election.

Speaking to media, Kanti Mishra said, “He (Vajpayee) does not belong to me or her (Karuna), he belongs to the nation. Everyone cannot go to Delhi so when ‘Kalash’ comes to their state they get a chance to pay their last respects”.

Earlier criticising the BJP for carrying Vajpayee’s ashes all over the country Congress leader and niece of Vajpayee Karuna Shukla said, “The way BJP is carrying around the country ashes of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, it is a show-off and for votes. She further alleged that Chhattisgarh CM Raman Singh & his cabinet never remembered him until now especially when he had created the state.”
