During unprovoked cross-border firing by Pakistan last night, 4 brave BSF Bordermen laid their lives while defending the sanctity of the country and made a supreme sacrifice in the service to the nation.
Late Jitender Singh, Assistant Commandant, SI Rajneesh, ASI Ramniwas, Constable Hansraj sustained fatal bullets and shell injuries during cross-border firing from Pakistan on 12 June 2018. Other than the martyrs, 3 more Bordermen also suffered injuries during the same cross-border firing.
On 13 June 2018, a wreath-laying ceremony was organized at BSF Camp in Paloura, Jammu to pay a rich tribute to brave soldiers. Bali Bhagat former Health Minister and men along with other senior officers of the Central and state government paid a floral tribute to the Martyrs at BSF headquarter in Jammu. On this occasion, Mr. Choubey said that BSF has a history of bravery and bordermen have always stood force if it comes to national security. He further added that BSF is the most professional force to protect the sovereignty of the national boundary and people of the nation can sleep fearlessly while the border-men are on duty.
Mr. Choubey reiterated that as a peaceful country we never initiated fire from our side but keep all our options open. Cremation of the martyrs will be done at their respective hometowns.
