My vision is to establish a 50-bedded Ayush hospital in each district: Shripad Naik

Gurgaon: Union Minister Shripad Naik said on Tuesday said his vision was to establish at least one 50-bed Ayush hospital in every district of the country to provide Ayurveda and homeopathy based treatment to the needy.

Naik, who heads the Ministry of Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy (AYUSH), visited the Amity University in Manesar here to inaugurate an on-campus herbal garden and medicinal plants distribution centre set up.

The minister said with ‘AYUSH’ people were connecting to their roots and improving their lifestyle through natural remedies.

The minister also said that his vision was to ensure there was at least one 50-bed Ayush hospital in every district of the country.

Holistic development was the motive of the government at the Centre, he said.

Naik said that in the last three years, AYUSH had been well introduced throughout the world. It is our responsibility to promote this across the globe, he said.

Talking about the initiatives of his ministry, Naik said as part of a scheme, an AYUSH doctor is stationed at every primary hospital and the medicines are budgeted from the ministry itself.
