Watch: Truck Runs Over Car On Mumbai-Pune Expressway, Three Dead

The visuals showed the car getting caught between the two big vehicles and being run over on Thursday.

After a container truck lost its control on the 94.5-kilometre Mumbai-Pune Expressway in Maharashtra, it ran over a Hyundai i10 that had three family members inside it. The visuals of the accident were captured by the rear camera of another truck that was in front of the i10. The visuals showed the car getting caught between the two big vehicles and being run over on Thursday.

 

Three occupants of the car, including a four-year-old boy, died on the spot due to the massive impact of the truck running over the car. The driver suffered serious injuries and was shifted to a hospital.

The car caught fire following the accident and patrol team of the Highway Police reached the spot. The police team also rescued the driver of the container. He was hospitalised.

According to the government, about 1.5 lakh people have died in road accidents in the past one year across India.
