Kejriwal said that the party does not want to do politics on this issue. Cautioning of shortage he said, “In the coming time, more beds will be needed in Delhi.
New Delhi| Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal held a press conference on Wednesday about the condition of Coronavirus in Delhi. Kejriwal who tested negative for COVID-19 yesterday said that he will not contest the decision of Lieutenant Governor. Delhi LG Anil Baijal had struck down the AAP Govt’s order reserving the beds in state-run and some private hospitals only for Delhi residents. This had sparked a huge debate.
However, Arvind Kejriwal today put to rest any speculation of fresh LG vs Delhi govt slugfest. Kejriwal said- “There is no time to fight on the issue of treatment of outsiders. We will obey LG Anil Baijal’s order.”

Kejriwal said that the party does not want to do politics on this issue. Cautioning of shortage he said, “In the coming time, more beds will be needed in Delhi. Some people were saying that LG or the central government cannot change the decision of the elected government of Delhi. But LG changed the verdict. Their decision will be implemented.”
‘80000 beds will be needed’
Kejriwal said, ‘We have an unprecedented challenge. By July 15, the people of Delhi will need around 30 thousand and on July 31, Delhi will need 80 thousand beds. 50% of people coming from outside in Delhi come and get treatment. In this context, on July 15, we will need 60-65 thousand and on July 31, one and a half lakh beds. We are trying our best to do whatever we can. Our work may be lacking, not in intention. ”
He said that the media persons are doing a very good job.” I urge them to state our shortcomings. They are telling that we went to a certain hospital, people are having many problems there. 1900 people have got beds in 8 days. At present, 4200 beds are empty in the government hospital. All the beds in the private hospital are full. We have to fix a lot of deficiencies. If the media sees something missing, then call and tell. This is not the time to fight. If the parties fight among themselves, Coronavirus will win. Unless all parties including BJP, Congress, AAP fight together, we will not win,” Kejriwal said.
