Tomorrow, India may get the first glimpse of a host of key information related to the spread of COVID-19 in the country, said ICMR.
New Delhi| The number of COVID-19 cases in India rose to 415 on Monday with the centre warning of legal action against those violating the lockdown which has been enforced to curtail the pandemic.
Many people are still not taking the lockdown seriously, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said this morning a day after the government imposed severe restrictions across the country to prevent the spread of coronavirus that has infected over 390 people in India and killed 7.
Taking to Twitter, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today urged citizens to take the lockdown measures seriously to ensure everyone’s well-being. “I urge the state government to do the same,” he posted on the micro-blogging site.
The Ministry of Health also confirmed that the death of a Philippines national in Mumbai was not due to Covid-19 but kidney failure, although the patient did test positive later.
The total number of Covid-19 patients in Maharashtra rose to 89 with 15 more coronavirus positive cases reported in the last 24 hours. Of the new cases, 14 are in Mumbai and one in Pune.
Out of 415, 41 are foreign nationals and the seven are dead as reported so far. The total number of active coronavirus cases across the country now stands at 359, while 24 people have been cured/ discharged/ migrated, the Union Health Ministry said.

Delhi has reported 27 positive cases, while Uttar Pradesh records 25 cases.
Telangana has reported 21 cases. Rajasthan has reported 28 cases. In Haryana, there are 17 cases, which include 14 foreigners.
The 75 districts identified after the meeting account for nearly 24 crores of the total population — about 20 per cent of the population according to the 2011 census. The total lockdown population could be higher since many states have decided to widen the lockdown.
Coronavirus deaths have soared across the world despite heightened restrictions, as India shut down 13 states and 80 districts, Germany banned gatherings of more than two people and Chancellor Angela Merkel went into quarantine.
