With Assets Worth $66.5 Billion, Gautam Adani Now Asia’s Second-Richest Man Following Mukesh Ambani

Gautam Adani has left behind Chinese Billionaire Zhong Shanshan to bag Asia’s Second Richest man tag. Mukesh Ambani maintains the first place on the list.

 

Gautam Adani, the owner of Adani Group, has become Asia’s second-richest businessman. His total assets have been recorded at $66.5 billion. His wealth has increased by $33 billion this year alone i.e. an increase of nearly 90%. Reliance Industries still maintains the topmost rank in Asia with Mukesh Ambani having total assets of $ 76.5 billion.

The skyrocketing wealth of Adani

As Gautam Adani’s wealth continues to grow there are speculations he can leave Mukesh Ambani behind. There is only a difference of $10 billion in the assets of these two. Gautam Adani’s company operates in multiple sectors from infrastructure to renewable energy and has also left behind Chinese billionaire Zhong Shanshan whose company operates from the Beverages to the Pharma sector. Shanshan has assets of $63.6 billion. In the global list of the super-rich, Ambani is currently at 13th place while Adani is at number 14.

Ambani’s property plummeted this year

While Adani’s wealth grew this year, that of Ambani has plummeted. Ambani’s assets have decreased by $175 million. On the other hand, Adani has grown by $32.7 billion in terms of assets. Adani’s assets have grown tremendously in the last one year. Since May 2020, the shares of their listed companies have seen a tremendous increase.

Adani has 6 listed companies

The market cap of Adani-listed 6 companies has increased 41.2 times in a year. At the same time, the market cap of Ambani’s Reliance Industries Group companies has increased by just 55%. The market cap of Reliance Group is Rs 13 lakh crore while the market cap of Adani Group companies is Rs 8.4 lakh crore. Talking about last year, the Adani Group companies had a market cap of $ 20 billion, which is now at $ 115 billion i.e. it has increased by 6 times. The market cap of Reliance Group has increased from $ 125 billion to $ 178 billion in the same time period.

Adani Total Gas shares rose 114 times in 1 year

Adani Total Gas shares have increased 114 times in the stock market in the last 1 year, which has been the highest growing share. Adani Enterprises’ stock has risen 82 times, while Adani Transmission’s stock has risen 61 times. Adani Green Energy’s stock has risen 43 times and Adani Power’s stock has grown more than 18 times. Adani Group is presently engaged in manufacturing related to Port, Airport, Energy, Resources, Logistics, Packaged Foods, Agri Business, Real Estate, Financial Services, Gas and Defense.
