13 people died and several others were injured after a bus fell into the Narmada river in the Dhar district, Madhya Pradesh.
Mumbai: 13 people were killed and many others were found injured as a bus that was on its way to Maharashtra fell into the Narmada river in the Dhar district, Madhya Pradesh on Monday morning. The Maharashtra Roadways bus was going from Indore to Pune when the accident took place.
Nearly 40 people boarded the bus, the Maharashtra roadways broke the railing of a bridge on the National Highway No.3 (Agra-Mumbai road), situated close to Dhar and Khargone borders, and then fell into the river. The Home Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Narottam Mishra stated, “about 40 people were on board the bus, and 13 bodies have been recovered so far.”
“The district administration team is present at the accident site. The bus has been removed. I am in contact with Khargone, Dhar district administration. Instructions have been given to make all the arrangements for proper treatment of the people injured,” Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan tweeted, expressing sorrow over the loss of lives in the accident.
