Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Sunday accused the Modi government of failing to represent 90% of Indians comprising backward classes, minorities, Dalits and tribals.
Addressing a Bharat Jodo Yatra gathering in Agra, Rahul stated that schemes like Agniveer reflect shutting prosperity avenues for most citizens. “We cannot progress leaving millions behind,” he added.
The former Congress chief blamed the PM for surging unemployment, farmer distress and worsening inequality under a regime favouring crony capitalism over public welfare.
He also assailed the government’s handling of crises like the pandemic. Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav joined the Bharat Jodo Yatra in Agra shortly after his party sealed a Lok Sabha election seat-sharing agreement with Congress as part of the united opposition INDIA alliance.
Rahul Gandhi highlighted that inclusive development requires uplifting and empowering all sections of society. He accused the ruling dispensation of deliberately ignoring the interests of 90% of backward classes, minorities, Dalits and tribals.
