ABP C-Voter Opinion Poll Predicts Sweep For BJP in Gujarat With 135 Seats

It is a usual practice for news channels and survey agencies to carry opinion polls in poll-bound states to get an idea of the mood of people in the lead of to election.

In one such opinion poll conducted by ABP- C Voter, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is being projected as a clear winner in the highly anticipated Gujarat Assembly Elections. The opinion poll predicted that the incumbent BJP will poll 45.4% votes, whereas the rival Congress party is projected to get 29.1% vote share. The Aam Aadmi Party, a new entrant in the contest, is predicted to score 20.2% vote share. The opinion poll suggested 5.4% vote share for other parties and independent candidates.

For the 182-seat Gujarat assembly, the ABP- C voter survey’s prediction gives 135 seats to the BJP, 35 seats to the Congress, 11 seats for the AAP, and 1 seat to others.

According to the agency, the survey took opinion of around 22,000 people from across Gujarat to come to the conclusion.

Earlier on Thursday, the Election Commission announced the dates for the Assembly elections in Gujarat.

The elections will be held in two phases on December 1 and 5. The counting of votes will take place on December 8, which coincides with that of Himachal Pradesh’s result date.
