“Aftab Threatens To Cut Me Into Pieces”: Wrote Shraddha In Complaint Letter To Cops In 2020

The cops are now verifying the complaint and are checking if Vasai cops had taken any action in the matter at that time

New Delhi: In 2020, Shraddha Walker had written a letter to cops. In the letter, she complained about Aftab Amin Poonawalla. She had written the complaint letter exactly two years ago, i.e. on November 23, 2020, to the cops in Vasai of Maharashtra after he beat her up at a flat they shared. She wrote that he threatened her of chopping her into pieces.

The police are now verifying the complaint and are checking if Vasai cops had taken any action in the matter at that time.

Aftab’s parents are in Delhi to record their statements. Shraddha’s co-worker Karan, whom she had told about the assault is in Delhi too.

The letter of November 23, 2020, connects to what she informed Karan via WhatsApp at roughly the same time. She also shared a picture of her bruised face with him at that time. A week later, she had also been admitted to a hospital for “internal injuries.”

“Today he tried to kill me by suffocating me and he scares me and blackmails me that he will kill me, cut me up in pieces and throw me away. It’s been six months he has been hitting me but I did not have the guts to go to the police because he would threaten to kill me,” says the letter.

Shraddha’s parents were not in direct contact with her as they were against her relationship.

Aftab killed Shraddha chop her into pieces and for many nights he stepped out disposing off her body parts. This heinous crime was committed by him days after they moved to a flat in Delhi’s Mehrauli in May this year. This crime came into limelight after Shraddha’s father went to the cops as her friends told him she hadn’t contacted them, too, in months.

Shraddha in the letter said that his family knew about his violent behavior. The letter reads, “His parents are aware that he beats me and that he tried to kill me. They also know about us living together and they visit on weekends.” It further reads that she lived with him as they were supposed to get married anytime soon and had the blessings of his family.

But it concludes with: “Henceforth I’m not willing to live with him, so any kind of physical damage should be considered coming from him as he has been blackmailing me to kill me or hurt me whenever he sees me anywhere.”

Police currently have an alleged confession, which is inadmissible on its own, as proof of murder. In particular, a forensic examination to determine that some body pieces discovered in the Mehrauli jungle are truly hers is one of the tangible clues that police are looking for.
